About BirdChirp

BirdChirp is a small, independent social media platform in public beta. Sign up, pick a username, and post. Posts are called chirps: short updates with room for text, an image, video, audio, or a GIF. Anyone can reply, like, repost, or attach a poll.

The point is to make a corner of the internet that feels the way social media was supposed to feel. Chronological, personal, and mostly just for fun.

262 members have signed up and posted 1,979 chirps and 2,094 replies. 93 members were active in the past week.

What You Can Do Here

• Post chirps with photos, video, audio, and GIFs.
• Reply, like, repost, and follow. No boosting, no suggested accounts.
• Run polls on any chirp.
• Send DMs and join groups for the people who share your interests.
• Customize everything with themes, CSS, avatars, banners, and a bio.

Why It Exists

Feeds get ranked, the people you follow get buried, and social media turns into a machine for deciding what you get to see. BirdChirp is the opposite of that.

• No algorithm. Feeds are chronological. Newest first, always.
• No ads and no selling your data. We store only what the site needs to run.
• No growth at any cost. No streaks, no engagement loops.
• People over metrics. It stays small enough that the people running it know the community.
